Whilst I'm still dev'ing the internal mosfet I thought I might as well put what I've learned to good use and make something that's proven to work (also gives me a chance to test my construction methods).

The SW-AB-LONG is a standard mosfet system with active braking, more details here: http://extreme-fire.com/SW-AB-LONG.html

Please excuse the crappy flux left on the boards my solder paste is getting old and the solder I have on a reel is really difficult to use (I miss leaded solder (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ). I'll be buying some new solder along with some cable soon.

I used some double sided sticky pads to hold and hopefully protect the polyfuses. I used these fuses to create a 22-24A fuse, this will be an optional component: http://www.littelfuse.com/products/Resetta...6R/16R700G.html

Just need some cable, heatshrink, a label and it should be good to go (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) . I'm aiming to sell these at around £30 each with polyfuses but I'd like to gain how much interest there would be before I go making loads of these. Let me know.

I made a balls up of the circuit diagram, I got the braking fet upside down because the main fet's pins were labelled incorrectly but cos that was placed upside down the main fet looked ok :/. I've removed the thermals around the pads as such a small board doesn't really need them and I've added lots more copper and vias for current to flow easier.

Eagle PCB, gerber, drill and SW-AB-LONG part lib files are here: http://openairsoft.net/stuff/SW-AB-LONG_EaglePCB.zip

Lets hope I haven't screwed anything else up :/.

Boards turned up on saturday, I built one on sunday and installed into my P90. Works perfectly, rof has increased and active breaking is all working. I ran the gearbox a good 30 secs on full auto (with a 7.2v lipo) and there wasn't any noticeable heat coming from the unit. I don't have any 11.1v setups to test this on though.

I'll get some pics done and create an installation manual. I've decided that the polyfuses should always be installed as the mosfet replaces the existing fuse holder anyway and it would be dangerous to run a lipo setup without a fuse. I've got 6 boards ready to be assembled and tested.
